Anxiety
Most people feel anxious or scared sometimes, but if it's affecting your life there are things you can try that may help. Getting help and support if you're finding it hard to cope with anxiety, fear or panic. The symptoms of anxiety might affect how you feel physically, mentally and how you behave.
The physical symptoms of anxiety can be faster, irregular or more noticeable heartbeat, feeling lightheaded and dizzy, frequent headaches, chest pains/palpitations, loss of appetite, sweating, breathlessness suddenly feeling hot and or shaking
The mental symptoms of anxiety can be feeling tense or nervous, being unable to relax, worrying about the past or future, feeling tearful, not being able to sleep, difficulty concentrating, fear of the worst happening, and/or intrusive traumatic memories having obsessive thoughts.
Changes in behaviour caused by anxiety can be not being able to enjoy your leisure time, difficulty looking after yourself, struggling to form or maintain relationships, worried about trying new things, avoiding places and situations that create anxiety and /or compulsive behaviour, such as constantly checking things


Stress
Most people feel stressed sometimes and some people find stress helpful or even motivating. But if stress is affecting your life, there are things you can try that may help. Stress can cause many different symptoms. It might affect how you feel physically, mentally, and also how you behave. It's not always easy to recognise when stress is the reason you're feeling or acting differently.
Physical symptoms can be having frequent headaches or dizziness, muscle tension or pain, stomach problems, chest pain or a faster heartbeat.
Mental symptoms can be difficulty concentrating, struggling to make decisions, feeling overwhelmed, constantly worrying and/or being forgetful.
Changes in behaviour can be becoming irritable and snappy, sleeping too much or too little, eating too much or too little, avoiding certain places or people and/or drinking or smoking more.
